Babette de Jongh lives just outside Houston, Texas, with her extremely tolerant husband, three regular kids and a zoo-worthy assortment of pets. Carmen is her favorite dog, but please, don't tell the others. Babette has completed three manuscripts which have won numerous awards. Currently, she is writing first draft of a new work-in-progress, conducting a systematic search for the perfect agent, and steadfastly ignoring any new story ideas that come knocking. Okay, that last part's a lie. She's writing two new things, revising an old manuscript, and taking notes about more stories to tell in the future. Linear progression is apparently not an option. Contest judges have described her work as "subtle and effective… poignant… tense and full of emotion...TERRIFIC… Lots of action and suspense...Very intriguing...Definitely a great read.” Her philosophy about fiction writing is to follow your instincts, tell the truth, and never, never, never stop learning the craft.
